Self-Tapping Screws are fasteners that are able to tap own hole as they are driven into the material. They are used with hard substrates like metal or hard plastics by creating a cutting a gap in the link of the thread for generating a flute. In addition, they can also be used with softer substrates like wood or soft plastics by tapping simply from a tip to a gimlet point.
